Use this helpful checklist to prepare your pool for all possible emergencies. 

 

  _____   Do I have enough TRAINED Lifeguards to provide the proper pool surveillance Lifeguard

Certifications? Lifeguard/First Aid - 3-year Certificate and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer - 1-year Certificate?

  

  _____   Do I have the proper rescue equipment for my guards (rescue tubes, backboard w/

head immobilizer, CPR pocket mask, a first aid kit, and an automated external defibrillator?

  

  _____   Do I have enough trained Water Safety Instructors if I schedule Red Cross Learn-to-

Swim classes?

  

  _____   Do I offer regular in-service training for my Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors?
