Services Volunteer Opportunities
During The School
Year
High School Clubs
Red Cross High School Clubs are service groups
in local high schools that help the Red Cross fulfill its
humanitarian mission. Club members participate in Red Cross service
projects that impact their community. Members discover many new
opportunities for self-development, leadership and community
service.
Reasons Students Join Red Cross Clubs:

Disaster Awareness Response Team
(DART)
The DART team is comprised of high school
students ages 14-18 who distribute Red Cross disaster education
materials in assigned community areas and spread awareness about Red
Cross services, programs, and volunteer opportunities whenever
possible.

Committee
Comprised of high school age Red Cross
volunteers whose purpose is to get other youth involved and to help
develop youth as leaders. They meet once a month on Sunday
afternoon. Some examples of activities are: Fund raising
projects, Veterans Nursing Home Project, Safe Families Day, All
Types of on going projects,

Hospital
Summer Teen Program for ages 15 – 18
Volunteer at the information desk
giving out general information, answering phone, deliver mail,
deliver flowers and help with wheel chair transportation when
needed. After volunteering during the summer you have the
opportunity to volunteer during the school year on weekends or after
school.
Summer Clown Troupe Program for
ages 8 years old and up
The purpose of the American Red Cross clown
troupe is to teach fire safety at local daycare centers and promote
the American Red Cross. They attend a two hour training to learn how
to apply and take off makeup, and they are trained to teach fire
safety for day care centers with Sesame puppets, music and pictures.
The clown troupe performs as a free community service at area
child care facilities and other special events when requested.
